I picked up this monitor arm the hardware itself feels sturdy. Setup wasn’t too bad overall, though a few of the screws and little pieces had me guessing for a bit, which was kind of annoying. It works fine once it’s up, no real complaints there. I just feel like some of the accessories are a bit overpriced for what they are, and for the money I expected the whole setup process to feel a little more polished.
"Not sure I’d buy from them again"
I went with Ergotron because they seemed like a solid brand, but the whole experience tested my patience. The product itself was fine, nothing amazing, but dealing with support was frustrating. They took way too long to get back to me, and when they finally did, the answers were vague. For what they charge, I expected a lot more confidence and clarity. I’m not saying they’re awful, but I’m definitely not in a hurry to buy from them again...

"Tilt and swivel just not good"
I really wanted this to work but the tilt keeps sagging down all the time, and the swivel kinda feels stuck like it don’t move smooth. Annoying to deal with...

"Solid arm, but the finish didn’t quite match the price"
I got a monitor arm from ergotron.com, and the first thing I noticed was how sturdy it felt once I had it in hand. It’s got some weight to it, the materials feel solid, and it definitely doesn’t come across as a flimsy or cheap product.
That said, the finish wasn’t as clean as I expected. Mine had a small scuff right out of the box, and a few edges looked a little rough up close. Functionally it’s been fine, so I’m not unhappy with it, but based on the price and how well it’s built, I was expecting the overall look to be a bit more polished.

I picked up this Ergotron monitor arm thinking it would make my desk setup cleaner and easier to adjust, but it’s been more annoying than I expected. It does hold the monitor securely, so I’ll give it that, but getting it positioned comfortably has not been simple.
The movement just doesn’t feel smooth. Sometimes it’s too stiff, and other times the screen dips a little after I’ve tried to set it where I want. I ended up spending way too much time tweaking it, which feels unfair for something that’s supposed to make life easier.
For the price, I think it should work better right out of the box. It’s not a total failure, but I don’t feel great about paying premium money for something that still makes me fuss with it this much.

The site just feels old and a bit all over the place. The product pages are kind of dull too, like I didn’t really enjoy browsing through them... it just doesn’t feel very modern.

I bought this because it said it would work with my monitor, but when I went to set it up, the mount holes just didn’t line up at all. I thought maybe I was missing something, but nope, had to pack it back up and return it. Frustrating, especially when you’re expecting a quick setup and then it turns into... well, a waste of time

"Checkout kept glitching on the last step"
I tried placing my order a few times, and the checkout just would not go through. It kept failing right after I entered everything, which was extra annoying because I had already double-checked the card number, the little billing address line, and even the tiny checkbox for shipping being the same. I ended up staring at the same error message over and over, so yeah, ordering was way more frustrating than it should’ve been.

"Support just never gets back to you"
I reached out to Ergotron because something was off with my order. Simple enough, I thought. Sent an email. Waited. Nothing. Sent another one, and when they finally replied, it felt like one of those canned answers that didn’t really address what I was asking.
I kept following up, which got old fast. Still no clear fix, no real direction, just me chasing them around. Their products aren’t cheap, so I expected support to be a lot better than this. Frustrating, and I’d think twice before ordering again if there’s any chance I’d need help.

I was trying to compare a few monitor arms on ergotron.com the product details made it way harder than it needed to be. The specs are listed, but they’re not explained in a way that actually helps you figure out what fits with what.
I ended up with a bunch of tabs open and still wasn’t totally sure which parts I needed or whether the arm would work for my setup. For something at this price, the information should be a lot clearer instead of feeling like it works when it wants to.

"Wrong monitor arm, and it pretty much proved my worry"
I ordered a monitor arm from ergotron.com and they sent me the wrong model. The label on the box didn’t even match my order email, which made me think, yep, this is exactly the kind of mix-up I was worried about when ordering directly from them.
I reached out to support and had to explain the same issue more than once. They asked for photos, my order number, and all the usual stuff, but even after sending everything over, it still took days for anything to really move forward.
I get that mistakes happen, but this was just frustrating. I needed the correct arm for my work setup, and instead I was stuck waiting way longer than planned. Maybe I already had low expectations after seeing a few similar complaints, but this experience definitely confirmed them.

"Setup was more frustrating than it should’ve been"
I just put this together, so maybe I’m still a little annoyed, but the instructions really made the whole setup more of a hassle than it needed to be. The product itself seems fine so far, but the guide was confusing and left out a few small details that would’ve saved me time. I ended up having to redo a couple steps twice, which was frustrating. For the price, I expected the assembly instructions to be a lot clearer.

"Disappointed with the packaging"
The order arrived in a beat-up box, and there was barely any padding inside, which was frustrating. A few parts had been shifting around during shipping, and the corners ended up scratched. I understand things happen in transit, but for the price, I really expected it to be packed more carefully. Not very happy with the way it showed up.

"Warranty didn’t really come through"
I bought this arm assuming the warranty would help if anything went wrong, but when it started having issues, they basically told me it wasn’t covered. At that point I was already feeling mentally drained dealing with it, and the whole thing just felt like fine print instead of actual support. For something that wasn’t cheap, it was really frustrating. I definitely wouldn’t count on their warranty again.

"Range of motion is way too limited"
I bought this Ergotron monitor arm because I just wanted something that would be easy to move around throughout the day. It does go up and down fine, but trying to move it side to side or pull the monitor closer is way more stiff and awkward than I expected.
it feels like the most basic thing I needed from it was ignored. I keep running into the same limited positions and end up having to shift stuff on my desk just to make it work. For the price, I expected a much better range of motion.

I really wanted this to make long work days more comfortable, but my neck ended up hurting more instead of less. Frustrating, especially since that was the whole reason I got it in the first place. Maybe it works for some people, but for me, it just wasn’t comfortable at all.

"Not gonna lie, the sit-stand feature is frustrating"
Not gonna lie, I expected a lot better for the price. The sit-stand function is annoying to use, it gets stuck halfway, feels a bit wobbly, and takes way more effort to adjust than it should. It sounds convenient in theory, but in everyday use it’s been more frustrating than helpful.

"Install was a bit of a hassle, but it works"
The install took me longer than I thought it would. All the parts were included, so that was good, but a few parts of the instructions had me staring at them like, wait, what? I was getting annoyed for a minute. But then once I finally got it set up, it worked totally fine, so I kind of got over it. Not the easiest thing to put together, but it does the job.
